About Me
I'm a newbie to investing and hope to learn from the experts here on how to locate owners of abandoned property, what steps to take to purchase, etc.
I'm a licensed real estate agent in Louisiana, but unfortunately, REI wasn't covered in my initial training and subsequent CEUs. I'm currently studying for my broker's exam.
My Business
So far I have NO PROPERTIES (other than my own home). I found two abandoned residential properties that I would love to purchase - either as rental or to flip/sell, but kind of stumped as far as what the steps are to start the process. Seems like there is little Louisiana specific info when I googled the topic.

Welcome to the site.
It is rare for a licensed residential agent to know much about REI. It is not part of the training and mostly not a part of the day to day business of being a residential agent.
You will find some good information here on the site. There are many experienced people. There are some good books out there to provide the bigger picture. Just be wary of the seminars and other higher priced training. While good ideas can applied profitably many gurus are selling info that you can obtain at a better price elsewhere.
