About Me
Before becoming a Real Estate Investor I pitched 3 seasons for the NY Yankees and played a lifeguard on TV.... not what you came here to hear about, huh? ok, lets stick to the real estate stuff.
OK, my name is Omar and I Play Monopoly for a Living! You know...buy four green houses and trade them in for a red hotel. (so cliche, I know)
I am a former Army Sgt and finished out eight year career in the Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. I jumped out of planes, served in Iraq and was planning on doing the whole "lifer in the military" thing up until I lost an argument with the working end of an AK-47 assault rifle(which means some dude shot me in the chest). I guess you can say the other guy was a better shot than me that day?!
My Pops did the Vietnam thing and my Big Brother did the Afghanistan thing and totaled it all up and we got over 53 years of wearing Army green time between us..... our excuse always is "it seemed like the thing to do at the time"!
Anyways, they gave me some thing called a Purple Heart. It's supposed to be the oldest award the military has and I guess they only award it to people wounded in combat.
Apparently, the story was interesting to some people and I ended up being featured in the book "Boots on The Ground" and an international magazine called "American Enterprise".
The Mayor of my home town in Maui, Hawaii thought it was a good idea to name a day after me, the Governor insisted that I go and hang out with her at some events, the House of Rep's gave me a big plaque(did I sell tha right or is that the stuff you get when you dont brush your teeth? oops...) and the Senator was even nice enough to send a letter of recognition.
......DESPITE ALL THAT, I was still broke!
Well, since real estate was a buzz word, I decided to give that a try. And try I did.
Now I have expanded from Residential to Commercial as well as providing different services for Residential Investors and their clients.... but we'll save that for the little biz section here on the profile.
My Business
But along the way it wasnt always rainbows and hugs. Imagine going and collecting rent "from your house". No I dont mean your tenants came to your house. I mean you slept in your car and that 'was your house' and then you went and pulled up into the driveway of your tenants driving your 'house'. I swear my tenants must thought I did alot of business traveling since my car was always full of clothes. (hint: biz trips was the excuse for my full car)
I tell you that its really difficult to deal with a tenants complaining when they have easier access to a shower than you do.
But i just wanted to share that real quick before moving on to showing you the 4, 5, and 6 figure checks that made it all worth it.
My partners and I have acquired/bought 5 grand piece of junk fixer uppers all the way up to Luxury Lake Front Executive Homes, the 2 Million dollar kind.
We really want some Apartment Buildings and commercial stuff now.
Recently I have expanded my focus from CREATIVE Real Estate Investing Techniques TO providing tools and services to help other Real Estate Investors expand their portfolios, improve their businesses systems, and increase their bottom line.
blah, blah, blah.... boy was that a load of techno-realestate jargon or what?!
Bottom line, I'm helping other investors make money too!
I am now the Managing Partner of 2 LLC's and am a project manager for another private investment group. I also am Licensed Mortgage Professional and am able to service loans in over 23 states (thats nothing though my business partner is really cool and can do all 50).
My business that I have deals with offering financial education as well as financial tools that assist in helping people reduce and Eliminate their Debt in a fraction of the time without paying any more than they are right now, as well as helping people get back on their feet by offering Credit Restoration Services.
I am also the President and Founding Director of The L.I.G.H.T. Foundation, a NPO (that's a Non-Profit Org in case you didn't know)
I like to read books and take long walks on the..... wait, you don't care about that part.

And in case we never speak and you have actually read this far down... then next time you feel like complaining about how tuff your real estate career is going, allow me to give you a little tough love here real quick.... Shut up, Stop Whining, and Get a Life! Just some friendly advice I was given once(and it worked) and it also just so happens to be a title of a really awesome book by Larry Winget.

Omar,
I just wanted to let you know that I am interested in SHORTSALES. I Actually would like to be able to do them myself (with my team of loss mitigators) but still give a 6% commission to the agent (less work for him/her). I look for 500k upwards to 5 million (move in ready), but keep in mind a good deal is a good deal. I am a cash buyer, and want to relist the property with the agent for a quick sale. Agent must be willing to allow my team the negotiating power. Let me know if you have something or may now of someone who does. NATION WIDE. Thanks in Advance.
