Has anyone ever been in a job that you absolutely hate? Its not that i hate the company that i work for, i just hate what i do. I have noticed that it is a little harder to get this bisuness going than i originally thought. Being gone all week, its really hard. if i had someone to help out during the week, than it would be a real stress reliever.
anyways, i went to Portland, OR and Tacoma, WA last week and just got home on monday. I was sitting 70 miles west of Chicago (350 miles from the house) monday morning when my wife called me in a frantic. crying and screaming. her first words where " Chandler had a seizure and the ambulance is on the way." Chandler is the youngest of my 4 children @ only 1 months old.
I got off the phone and called my boss. I told him to find me a load to the house or I was going that way anyways. he told m to deadhead (no load) back to the office, go to the house, and take all the time that i needed.
I was talking to my cousin on my way home, and i told him that this was it. I am done trucking. This is the second time that someting has happened with me not being home. as soon as i find something at the house, im getting out of a truck......for good.
we found out on top of having an autistic son ( my 5 year old) we may also have one that has epilepsy. he has to go see a pediactric neurologist in Louisville, KY.
I hate to say that i am using this as an "excuse" to get out of a truck, but im tired of stuff happening to my children when im not at home.
please keep my son in your prayers
thanks,
James Riley and family

James,
Sorry to hear about your week. Having a kid myself - this hits home. I thank god every day that we live happy and healthy.
I will say some prayers for you.
