Last night we painted the upstairs bedrooms in our rehab, we have to do the trim yet and then the rooms will be ready for new carpet. If you do your own labor, and you plan to be painting, one of the best investments I purchased for a decent price was the Wagner PaintNRoll Plus Paint Roller.

Buy it online because it is $14.97 compared to in-store price of $24.97. I think Lowes has in-store pick up for free. Just check before ordering.
I painted two rooms in half the time that it would have normally taken me. The best part of it was however that I had no paint on my body or clothes! If I had to say one thing that I didn’t care for with this tool, was clean up. It took a little more time to clean out all the paint from the roller tube. I wanted to make sure no old paint would be left in it to dry up and clog the tool. It wasn’t too bad of a clean up, and would have went by easier if I had a deeper sink to clean it out in.

Something else I have learned while working on my rehab. I looked at Lowes to find out what it would cost me to replace 15 windows and do the work myself. I came up with a price. Next I called around to some window replacement companies. I talked with Neal at Columbus Window who came out measured the windows, and gave me a quote. With that quote, and what I came up with for what it would cost me to do it myself for a small amount more it was better to have the professional company just do it. We are talking within dollars here. It just made more sense to let the window replacement company do the work while I did other things that needed to be taken care of that day. If you are doing work in the Columbus area, then I highly recommend Columbus Window if you need replacement windows. His crew was the best! It took them one day, whereas it would have taken me several days by myself. The replacement windows came with a lifetime, transferable warranty as well. So that worked well since I plan to sell the house when it is finished.

Now I am looking at carpet. It looks like I may pay a few extra dollars but not have to do the work and let the flooring company handle everything. I am going to use Levi’s Floors, I have worked with them in the past on my own home and really like their service.

Since my last blog post was negative to describe my experience with a handy man, I thought today’s would be a good way to get back on track.

Thanks for the tip on this Paint roller, I did get it. Once I figured out that you had to keep pressure on the paint can, it worked well - except the paint color that I picked out.  Once I get a better color, I will be using it again, ..................on the same walls.
Hope everything is going well.
