Hello Everyone,

Today I met with someone who has really been a huge driving factor toward the success I have had thus far in my life, and the success that is to come in the years ahead.  I had met this person randomly, and she has nothing to do with real estate whatsoever.  Often times when you hear of an investor talking about a mentor, it is often a person who has gone through the investing technique that the investor is trying to implement.  In this instance, it is not the case.

The woman I am speaking of is what is known as a spiritual consultant.  A spiritual consultant is someone who is in tune with "the universe" and can sense certain character traits within you.  I had not hired her for this, and in fact the relationship was romantic in nature, but none the less, her profession had a profound effect on the Man I am today.  I am only 25, but I am a Man.  Certain people can be in their 50's and still be considered boys.  The key to become a Man or a Woman instead of a boy or a girl is in one simple character trait that sums up an important aspect of any business you are trying to get into:

INTEGRITY

Integrity is the most important characteristic you need to have in order to be taken seriously as a business man or woman.  If you lack integrity, people will assume that you lack respect, trustworthiness, and morals.  Integrity is the trait that forces one to do the right thing when it is the hardest choice to make.  Often times, Integrity will Cost a lot of money in the short term, but the long term is the game smart investors play.

This spiritual consultant was able to point out to me things that I did that lacked integrity.  For instance, I was complaining about being the Chapter President of a local non profit organization and all of the hours I was putting into it.  I just wanted to quit.  She was quick to point out that a man of Integrity would treat that title with the respect it deserves.  If you are feeling negatively secretly, it will outwardly manifest into the public.  I quickly changed my tune, and currently I am up for the National Board of Directors for the Non-Profit Organization.

Integrity is built with practice and persistence.  It is very hard to change your habits in one day, and through hard work and constantly working on your personality to build the traits of people of Integrity, you will open innumerable opportunities.  All of the great people in our history were Men and Woman of integrity.

Keep an open mind when you meet people who are not in your profession.  Just because they are not business savvy or interested in that part of their lives, does not mean you cannot learn something from someone.
