Hello my friend,

Here's a quote by Nelson Mandela and I think it's one of my favorite quotes.

Sometimes I wonder, "Why am I pushing so hard?" "Why can't I seem to be happy with, 'not bad."

This helps me focus on the idea that we are meant to grow as much as we possibly can, that it's one of our main purposes here....

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Beautiful..... what do you think? I'm curious..

As a pastor who has been preaching through the Bible verse by verse for over ten years, and has been reading it daily for over 30 years, I take exception to putting out the blanket statement to readers that they are a "child of God."   A creation of God, yes, a child of God, not unless they have received Jesus as their personal Savior, and been born again.  Jesus said in Jn 3 "unless you're born again, you can not see the kingdom of God."

Nelson Mandella did not write that.

An American woman, Marianne Williamson wrote it.

Please give credit where it is due - otherwise it is misleading...

That is Biblical Truth, God has given us life and He wants u s to have that life more abundantly.  I believe that it is the greatnessthat we see in others that causes us to dream of doing and being the same if not greater. If you believe it, you can acheive it.   Colin, thanks for that "word"

God calls us to excellence.  Anything short of doing our best is displeasing to God.  Going to work day in and day out without using the abilities we were given is a total waste of talents.  Getting comfortable is the worst poison to enter our lives.

Thanks Colin,

B

interesting concept...I was reading "The Science of Getting Rich:" and the author made several references to how we are each Gods creation and through that its somewhat disrespectful to not be rich or be the best in anyway you can cause in essence you are representing Him...I thought it was interesting bc it wasnt really about us so to speack it was about keeping the momentum of greatness going throughout history and setting that example for everyone not just for self gain
