You may want to check out the products before you buy now at the grocery store. I was watching the news this am and they said that companies are now, instead of raising the price on products they are using different packaging ,slightly different and putting less in it, charging the same price....I guess this is there way of saving money, but still I think it is wrong. Peanut butter, tuna, kleenex, toiletpaper same price less in them. potato chips instead of 16oz you are now getting 14oz. Pretty clever cause I didn't notice, but I feel I would rather them raise the price then jip me out of a product.....any way this should be a eye opener for those who are doing business like this, I'm sure you are not, but if I am going to sell a product then I am going to give them what they are buying,  we need to be more ethical to others....Success if for those who deserve it not who want to take advantage of people.....

Sorry I couldn't believe this

Funny enough many people could benefit from eating less. If they can not reduce what they eat offering a bit less in the package when they do not notice could have the same impact.

Personally I do not find it deceptive if the quantity changes rather than the price is raised. The idea is the same, you are paying more per unit. If people only look at price rather than price per unit is it really the fault of the manufacturer that the buyer did not check?

Hi Patricia,

I have noticed this happening to ice cream over the past few months. You can no longer get 2 qts of ice cream in my area, I think this has also been done with snack foods like bags of potato chips. With profits shrinking we will probably be seeing more of this.
