I search the county records an then pull the immaging docs for the recorders office. Somewhere on the recorded information will be an account number written on the docs (thats the account number you should use to call the bank) Before I go further this only works on folks who are in trouble with the bank. I write the acct number down then go google the bank with the address listed on the documents. IE- US Bank, Fort Mill, SC- that atleast gets me in the ballpark.... mabye not the exact service center but beats calling all over the country. Next when I get a person on the phone they ask for my account number (HMMMM I have that) when they enter the number their screen should start going off like the 4th of July. They think they have a deliquent customer on the phone ready to talk, so of course they put you though to the right party. When that person answers I immediatey tell them there is confustion and I am not mrs/ mr jones, but rather an investor looking to help get this non performing loan off the books. Half the time they play ball and half the time they say go away we are not talking with out a letter signed by the borrower...... Still worth the 30 minutes of digging if you get one that pans out......

My thought is go to the bank and cross your fingers!
