Well ... I managed to get a list of foreclosures together.  There are a lot of them around me.  Problem is ... I don't have a clue as to how to handle these things.

My mentor says "Just do it" and I keep asking myself "How?" and I don't seem to be getting anywhere.  I want to "just do it" but I can't because I don't know the process.

I'm going to be using the forum today to ask for help.  I'm not getting anywhere and I feeling very fustrated.  I want to quit my job and do something that I see is very valuable to me and to others.  Fact is ... If I knew what I was supposed to do ... this would not be an issue.

Sorry about that ... enough ranting for now ...

Sylvia

I'm going to look into these books Don mentioned here.  If you have gotten to reading them or have finished with one or both of them, please let me know how you liked them.  I'm sure Don is right about them, it would just be nice to also hear from you what you liked about them too.

Best of success,
Joel

Thank you so much for the information!  I have "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" that I'm also reading.  That has to go back to the library soon, and then I will pick up those other books.

I even attended a seminar last night about Estate properties. Can we say major opportunity?  That will be something else that I will be doing later on down the road.  Right now ... getting started is the most important thing.

Did you ever get burned out or information overload when you did all this reading?  I have already had that emotional overload hit me already. There is so much to learn!

  Thanks again!

Sylvia

Well step one would be learn everything you can and develop your own system.  I don't recommend running out and buying an expensive course or paying for mentoring until you have some basic understanding of investing.

I recommend you get started with the following books:

The beginner's guide to real estate investing by Gary Eldred ($16.95) - Best all around introduction I have seen and I have read a bunch.

Also if you looking for an inexpensive book with to-do's to get you started try 40 Days to Success in real estate investing by Robert Shemin ($16.95) - You won't find a lot of ground breaking information but he packages it in a handy day by day format.  If you the kind of person who can follow through on each activity for the day it could give you that process you are looking for.

I recommend you check your local library to see if they have either of these.  If they don't have them, ask that they try and locate them for you.

Good thing about knowledge is you can borrow the learning materials from libraries, but you keep the knowledge forever.
