For those who have been keeping up with the story about the survey line going through my kitchen.... I just wanted to leave an update.
I had a survey done on the property and it looks like my land cuts off through the kitchen of the property, no if, buts about it. What I don't understand is that the surveyor is saying it is only coming to 7 acres and my deed (SHOULD) say 7.75 acres. The .75 would be exactly WHERE the line was suppose to be. I bet you that when we add in that extra part of the driveway to the kitchen, it's going to come to .75 acres. My deed ACTUALLY says 9.95 acres and it was put in their wrong from the beginning because once upon a time, the car wash across the street came with it. Now the surveyor is saying the difference in amount of land belongs with the car wash. It's SO clear to me that the .75 should be mine and it would put all the land in the correct place.
In the meantime, I meet the man who started HIS survey first and put the line there from his survey. He is telling me now, if I give him about an acre in the back of my property, he will give me the land UP TO the driveway but not include my driveway... BUT give right of way to the driveway... sounded silly to me, till I heard that he is planning to put his daughter in a trailer RIGHT NEXT to the driveway, so bet she wants the driveway to pull into. He said if I didn't like THAT plan, I could buy UP TO the driveway from him, but he wouldn't sell me the property where the drive way actually runs.
So, now I am meeting the surveyor on Monday and we take the map to the lawyer to go from there. She says we will draw up the lines. What a mess... and I will keep you posted. There is a picture of the property in the photo section... maybe you can see the lines (pink ribbons).

What type of Survey was done? Mortgage? Pin?
Are there pins set? Are they in the right place?
It seems hard to believe the county would have approved building on property that wasnt the owners or Splitting the property with the line going through the house.
The car wash across the street should have been a seperate parcel to begin with. Something is wrong here. I have a feeling you are going to have to cough up a$1,000 or more on a pin survey to get to the bottom of it.
Keep us posted. I have had survey issues before - but thankfully the end result has been in our favor.
Good luck,
Sean
