One of the primary causes of mental stress is the frustration that results from an attempt to do "everything at once." The cure is to prepare a daily schedule of things to be done.
1. List the day's projects in order of importance or in order of unpleasantness.
2. Limit the list to the most important projects and include only enough items so that the total represents a reasonably possible program.
3. Tackle the most important or the least pleasant jobs first and finish each item on that list, resisting the temptation to do things not on the list.
Unfinished tasks induce tension, finished ones promote relaxation. The written schedule is a tool that insures our progress and promotes serenity.
