Think about where you are in your individual lives....if the individual is together "Conscience Wise" all else falls into place with a minimum of stress and headaches.
Several have asked of my wife and I "How we got started?" "Our first deal?" to which I've pondered how to deliver a more indepth answer than the customary CREI response.
During one of my study periods I came across several quotes that has had a profound impact upon my interest and attempts at "Creative Real Estate Investing."
This industry is rife with empty hopes, deferred dreams, creative scams, marketing schemes, professional liars and cheats... in which we as a whole are viewed and in many instances rightly so....
However, the reality is that there are some great individuals with inspired hopes, dreams realized, creative energy, honest ideas, professional in their efforts and services.... which rarely we read of or hear about
In answer to many of the questions asked we answer:
We got started in faith, with high hopes and dreams. Our first deal we lost 17k! That was our learning curve 17k. After such a loss we where left with no other option but to learn this industry in part as an attempt to recoup such loss....but primarly to educate and prevent others from having to pay such a costly expereince.
Our company motto:
"Money moves People... People move Money....
Move the People first.... Money will Follow...
Put the PEOPLE first and I can assure you of certain success.....
"I would sooner have the approval of my own conscience and know that I had done my duty than to have all the praise of all the world....and not have the approval of my own conscience. A man's conscience, when he is living as he should, is the finest monitor and the best judge in all the world."

I bounced back ( I literally had no choice ) and learned from my mistakes ( that particular deal had no shortage of them ). It was the first and last time I will ever lose money on a deal. Napoleon Hill talks about the seed of equivalent benefit ( and it is very real ) , that mistake made me so focused and determined , I was able to recover it and a lot more in a few short months ( they didn't seem short at the time ). Looking back I can honestly say I'm glad it happened because I am a much better investor because of it.
I think it is important to share stories about the losses as well as the wins. Not to scare away beginners , but to help make them aware of the basic principles that guarantee when you have real money involved , you can't lose it. I will gladly share the story of that loss / gain to anyone interested in hearing about it , as well as some inspirational deals I've done and strategies to protect the money you do put into a deal.
Thanks for opening a great topic of conversation
