I have this idea I keep coming back to and want to get some feedback on it.  My day job is as a TV Cameraman in NY.  I have many years of experience working for all the major networks and many shows and specials that you have seen.

My idea was to marry my two passions together.  Video for Real Estate.  I m not talking about shooting a guru's seminar, although if you know anyone I can put that together very easily, I mean individual vids on a per house basis.

Think MTV Cribs meets Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.  I'll take high quality video and float through a home on a Steadicam HD virtual tour.  Narration can be done by either the Agent or a Voice-Over pro.  Naturally music will be added and a "contact me" for the agent at the end.

I realize that this might not be right for some markets, but I was thinking that high end, or vacation homes, may be in need of this service.  Perhaps out of state buyers, or maybe just the web for your average home because people want to get as much info as possible these days before doing anything.  DVD's can be used in the agents office or mailed, the video could be posted on the web for viewing perhaps linking from the MLS listing or at least the agent site.(no youtube, video quality too poor).

What do you think an agency will pay for something like this?  I imagine that there would be different fee structure for one-offs and than on a contract for a specific number of vids.  So how much per vid could I charge?  Should I target the Broker and not the Agents?  Do you think that the rental agencies for vacation, seasonal and weekly rental homes may find something like this valuable?

I appreciate any and all input positive or negative.  Thanks.

Check out the criagslist postings for your services.  Search multiple cities to get an idea.  contact them for pricing as if you were in need of their services, or ask them what lessons they learned they would do differently if starting out.

Visit the vacation rental spots and see if they want this kind of service.  Do a demo video to email or show them.  It's up to them to see the value, it's up to you to help them see the value.

Just my thoughts.
