While people should be encouraged to participate Denver's style might just rub people the wrong way. It is a bit OTT for many who are looking for serious advice or take their RE investing seriously.

Some will say that maybe this is taking things way to seriously. Given that each person can have their own opinion and they can express it silently with their vote then the ratings are truly a reflection of what people think.

If people do not want to be scored they can set that option. Or they can be more aware that each time they post it sends a message. As RE investing can be about brand and trust maybe it is important to be seen as a serious investor. Someone who you can trust with our money or our home. Someone who is not going to just make jokes and otherwise clown around.

On the internet people can look you up and decide if they want to do business with you. The more that this site improves its SEO the more likely what we say will reflect on our future business. Each vote is a signal to the group, to future readers, what the others who have read the post feel about the value of the post. A low score is an indication that frankly, the post should be skipped or otherwise ignored. The group just does not value what is being said or the way it is said.

Denver - well done on getting to level 2. It does mean something. If you care to get a higher ranking then posts that have greater value to more of the community is the secret. If it does what people think and how they vote, then it does not matter that you reached level 2. One way or the other.

Hey Collin, it wasn't me.  I gave Denver a C, the highest grade at the time  long before anyone gave him an A.  I was neutral on this one because I knew it was humor but I also thought it might be read the wrong way by some others.  Perhaps my C should have been a B.

Please let me revise my statement from below.  I don't mean I don't like the points.  I just mean that one can not judge others here by their point levels.  There are a lot of reasons why people have lower or higher point totals.  On one hand that's true what bewealthy stated about having points shows you are active and contributing on this site.  That's very much true.    However, some people are so busy with their investing activities that they don't get time to visit this site as often as they may like.  So of course if they are not on the site as frequently their points may be lower than someone who is able to visit the site daily.   I come here because I love the people and I want to learn as much as I can.  When I have several investment properties in my portfolio in the future I would imagine I'll have less opportunity or time to log in and check out the latest blogs and news.  Of course I'll always try to be here and remain active as best I can no matter what level of investing I reach.

In summary, the points are fun, the site is Awesome!  I just mean the points don't measure our success in real estate investing, they measure how active and involved we are here on the website RealEstateInvestor.com.

Congrats..

I actual think the numbers mean a lot, because that means that you ARE being active here.  Which can only mean you are writing blogs, asking forum questions, or creating bulletins that will help you answer your questions and help you create the knowledge you need to invest and make MONEY !!

So the more you are involved, the more you will learn, which can only mean the more you will implement in real life making you money!!

So again congrats and make the most of this site.  Collin sure did an awesome job and we should all thank him, once again.

Denver, everyones sense of humor  here is different.  I know you are just attempting to be humorous.

The numbers don't mean much to me.  They only show how much activity someone has on this site.  There are tons of people here with lower points than myself who have oodles more experience, skills, and knowledge in this business than I do.  Points are just a way for you to measure your own personal activity here.  That's just my opinion.   But Congratulations on your moving on up to #2 ribbon.   lol    You must be Da Man!

All in good fun I'm sure.

Best of success,
Joel
