Some people are afraid of failure.  But we needn't be.  There is a saying that what ever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.  Its cliche, but its true.

When we fail, we learn a lesson.  We learn what not to do.  Its the way we learn to ride a bike, or fly a kite, or swallow a sword.  Ok, swordswallowing is an exception, failure, not an option.

When a setback occurs, we must take a moment and examine what we did and then make necessary changes and try again.  What would happen if you got it right on the first attempt?  Would you know what the recipe for success is, not really.  You wouldn't know if it was the timing, the message, the messenger, the medium, market conditions, etc.  Any of those things could be the key, how would you know which one without first having tested, failed, and tweaked repeatedly.  The person who gets it right the first time may not be smarter but just lucky.

It is what we do as a result of our failure and how we recover from failure that truly shapes us and our business.  They call it trial and error for a reason.  Try it, doesn't work, tweak it, try again.  Of course, you should have a mentor who has tried many things before you.  There is no need to repeat their mistakes but we can learn from them.  That is the purpose of blogs and sites like these, to learn from others.  Copy their successes and avoid repeating their failures.
