Today I finally got all the carpet off the floor that was wet. It wasn't so easy as yanking carpet up because the firemen had knocked down the ceiling and all the insulation that was up in the attic with it. All that, plus what ever was melted, sheetrock, paneling and JUNK were piled up on the carpet. I finally got it bagged and off the floor.
I took time to take a friend of mine who is sort of a shut in out to get his med's and he took me to lunch. Just so happens he lives very near the Habitat Store, so I had to stop in to see what was new.
I found 2000 sq. ft of brand new siding (dutch vinyl), all trim including corners, j-channel and everything to do the house for $900.00. It will do both houses on the property and match them together. I also found a like-new water heater that fits the house for $40.00.
We've been in drought like state for most of the year, but today it has rained almost all day! So, when I loaded up the 12 foot siding on the back of my pick up, I tried to find some boards to help support it. I loaded them all by myself and got SOAKED from the rain in the boxes. I put 7 boxes of siding in the truck and drove home VERY VERY slow... only to get about 1 mile from home and the wet boxes allowed the siding to slide out of the truck bed and drag on the street.
I pulled over on the side of the road and the entire load was too much for me to push back in the truck and where I pulled over, a huge dog wanted to take my leg off. Finally, the owner of the dog got him under control and I was able to THANKFULLY find my 18 year old around a cell phone. He dropped what ever it was he was doing and loaded up his buddies dirt bike trailer and came to rescue me! Him and his friend were life savers tonight for me! They even drove back for the 2nd load and unloaded it all for me.

You are something else and yes you remind me of my wife none stop until the job is done no matter what have to get it done.
God bless you and good luck but please don't push yourself to bad learn to be the boss and tell other people what to do you will get more done.
Keep having fun but watch your health Ed
they all tell me the same thing... that they won't date me because I might work them to death! My plumber told his girlfriend to NEVER worry about the two of us... he says, "man... she'd work me to death - no way I'd ever leave you for her!" Then, I had one guy tell me how much he'd like to have someone like me, 'who can do all the work so I can sit back and watch TV'... you can guess what my response to that was! But, I'll keep my eyes open! LOL
we need to find you a dude
You do more manuel labor than most any men I know. You are one tough cookie! haha.
