For those who know my survey issue and are following it (thanks for asking about an update), here's the latest.

The surveyor has been quiet.  I call him once a week to 'push' him to find out when this thing is going to be over.  He always says, he's working on it.

Last week, the neighbor next to me that thinks he owns my land called me to tell me that I had one more week before he blocks my driveway and starts putting up telephone poles across my front yard. I told him that was a very BAD idea and he needs to wait until my surveyor is finished.

So, I got off the phone with him, called my surveyor AGAIN.  He told me that he is taking his time, crossing every T and dotting every I to MAKE sure there is NO mistaken his work because of this conflict.  He asked me for the neighbor's number and assured me that he would call him.

Next couple days go by and I haven't heard anything, but I got a SURPRISE bill in the mail from the attorney.... $300+ for consultation fees.  My surveyor has been to the attorney and they discussed my survey (of course, at MY expense... I'll be paying for HER time and HIS time), which is OK with me, if we just get this completed and sounds like they are working together to do this RIGHT.

In the meantime, my renters have gotten a loan approval to close the house and buy my house.  That is SOOOOO awesome, I can't wait.  It will be the very first house I've sold so far, out of the 12 properties that I am holding.  I know now that the timing issue is going to be the problem.... we can't close (or I REFUSE to close until the survey is correct).  I'm not doing what the owner did to the neighbor and made him close so fast before this was resolved.  I have a feeling he is going to be very disappointed to find out he doesn't own land he all the sudden THINKS he owns.  He's been living there for 7 years or so, but all the sudden now, he thinks this is his land (which was always mine/owner before me).  His surveyor changed the lines and now we have this big issue over the land.  It's amazing what GREED will do to someone.  He was happy with the lines for years and years where they were, now all he sees is taking my land and blocking my driveways (there are two houses on the property) and putting his daughters in trailers in front of my house and behind.. - which is impossible due to septic and well regulations.

That's it.  I'll let you know when I have the final chapter of this survey problem!
