Today was just one of the days... not a BAD day but a GREAT day.  Get this:

Yesterday on my way home from meeting a friend, my car was smelling really bad.  It was that "new car" smell, but my car has just rolled over 282000 (that's right) and it don't smell "NEW".  Something was wrong.

This morning, I got up, forgotten about the car, till I opened the doors and smelled that burning, new car but clutch burning type of smell.  Now what?  I can't make a phone call from my yard on my cell, so I drove toward my friend who fixes cars till I got a signal.  He didn't answer.

I made a quick u-turn and decided to go to Pittsboro (30 minutes away from his house) and visit Habitat store first.  I hoped the car made it.  Well, it did.

I got inside and almost forgot my car troubles, when I found the globe to my fixture that my crew worker tripped over and broke.   A perfect match of the other two globes on the fixture.  how often do you think that would happen!  (just one sitting there all by itself).

I found more ceiling paint that I needed and right before I left, I found an L&L Bean wood carrier.  My mom had bought me one for Christmas a few years back and I don't know what happened to it.  She was distraught that I lost it.  So, I bought it for $5.00 and now I "FOUND" it!  I also found a few gold outlet plates to match my gold in the bathroom.

As I was loading all of this up, guess who drove up?!  My friend who fixes cars.  Wow... that was perfect!  He took a quick look, said it's the clutch and be gentle.  Nothing I didn't already know, since it has been acting up for about a week now.

So, we make our "in town" trip to Lowes and get a few things and home to work. I found a pair of shutters that I wanted to try out on the house to see if the color looks good.  We got them up and I'll get a picture of the finished side of the house soon.

I started painting and the rains came.  Lucky for me, I was painting UNDER the porch ceiling, so I continued until the lightning got too close for my taste - since I was standing on a ladder made me nervous.  I got down as I finished the last of the gallon of paint.  Cleaned up and went home.

I messed around the house today and took a look at the stormy skies to my left.  There in my front yard was a beautiful rainbow to top my "lucky" day.  I took a picture, so if you want to see it... look in my photos.

anyway.. I just thought today was really a great day.  Timing was really interesting today.

Oh, the rehab?  The crew has been sick for 3 days, so I haven't seen them since Friday (left early too).  So, I've been doing a lot of work down there without a crew.  Hopefully, they will be back soon.
