I was listening to a CD set from a guru investor yesterday and one of his suggestions was to install a carport with his rehab properties that don't have a garage.  At first I thought this would be kinda of....well.....cheap.  But then I thought about it a little more and realized that this is a great idea and the ROI is huge considering the cost.

Most of those metal pre-built carports around here sell between $695 - $1,295 depending on what all you get.  This little investment could bring in a few thousand more on the property and if for some reason they don't want.  Just move it to the next rehab.

Has anyone done this or had any experience with adding garages or carports?  I'd be interested in finding out just how much it could help.

I think its a great idea. We started buying prefabbed garages and ended up getting them built by a contractor for under 3k. These are not sitting on a foundation - but rather anchored by  6 - 4x4's
