Don't get mad, get even
I became very interested in real estate when I was at college and couldn't believe how much I was paying for 1/2 a bedroom, then I started running the numbers in my head...those hamster wheels up there were turning. WOW!! Were those landlords making a killing or what? I won't tell you how long ago that was but rental prices have double since then.
I only dappled in it until one day my hubby pulls in with a brand new pickup truck. I'm not talking a small truck. I'm talking the ones that cost over $100 to fill up now. It was loaded with extended bed and cab...the works! I had a decision to make because I was not happy about this AT ALL! I could nag him to death or get even. I GOT EVEN!! I took about 1/2 of what his truck cost and bought 2 houses. Then I took his truck because I had to haul building materials. And I made him work on the first couple houses. Within a few months, I received that first closing check and he has been behind me 110%. I think I drive that truck more than he does. And if you ever see me driving it, just an FYI-he put the dent in the bumper not me!

Besides the multiple rentals and rehabs I've been managing, being a licensed agent in Ohio and do tax accounting 3 months a year, apparently I didn't think I wasn't busy enough because I very recently started a rental website (www.rentohionline.com) that's still somewhat in the works. Anyone can list their properties for free. I've found it extremely helpful when listing my properties for rent. I think this is the first time in a very long time I can say I have no vacates. WOOHOO!!
