Foreclosure Real Estate Investments and Home Buying Pick Up in NC
Home buyers and people involved in foreclosure real estate investments contributed to the increase in the number of housing unit sales in some areas of North Carolina in December 2010. Compared with the same 2009 month, sales figures for certain areas of the state rose, with some recording an increase of over 20%.

Gilbert Did Not Buy Cheap Land According to Real Estate Experts
Residents and real estate observers have criticized the city of Gilbert, Arizona, asserting that it did not buy cheap land as it should in relation to its farmland purchase in February 2009. A recent independent appraisal confirms experts' claims that the city overpaid when it acquired undeveloped land two years ago.
According to real property experts, with Gilbert bank foreclosures in high numbers, the land should have been cheaper. Repossessed Home Listing Gaining Ground Among Buyers
Housing data for November 2010 showed an increase in the number of signed purchase contracts, marking the fourth month in a five-month period that housing sales have risen in the U.S. Economists report that majority of the contracts involved foreclosed dwellings and properties in repossessed home listing.
Economists expect the first two to three months of 2011 to record increased residential property sales as buyers take advantage of the low prices of properties offered at foreclosure home auctions. Springfield Top in Home and Commercial Property Foreclosure Listings
Residential and commercial property foreclosure listings continue to rise in Springfield, Massachusetts in the last quarter of 2010. The city recorded the biggest foreclosure deeds-related filings total in the whole state for the January-November period. The area had a total of 575 filings for the 11 months.
Foreclosure lists in Springfield increased for the year, with the number of deeds rising by 23.92% compared with the same 2009 period. During January-November 2009, the number of deeds filed in Springfield totaled 464, according to data presented by the Warren Group.
