After losing my restaurant, I felt I still needed to honor all of the obligations I had personally guaranteed, so I worked out payment plans with all of my creditors.  Though this provided some relief, by the time I came to terms with everyone, I didn’t have enough left at the end of each month to make ends meet.

I could feel my entire life taking a turn for the worse, and I wasn’t quite sure what to do.  But I knew two things – I had to do something and I had no money to do it with.

After a good deal of research and deliberation, I took the plunge into what I saw as my safest and most immediately profitable opportunity – real estate investing.

Well I did…at first.  A nice “secure” job, with a steady paycheck.

But it didn’t take long for me to realize I was in the wrong place.

Truthfully, it never seemed quite natural for me to have to show up for work, report to someone else, and ask for my paycheck every week.  The idea of being told where I have to be, when I have to be there, how long I have to be there and how much money I’m allowed to make – it makes my stomach turn.

Briefly, how this came about…
