The local Real Estate market is very strong. It is a buyers market but prices have held steady and foreclosures are very low compared to the national market.
Marquette's population is a little over 20,000 permanent residents. Marquette is also a college town, and Northern Michigan University brings 12,000 students during the school year.
The local area is predominately a service-based economy. There are also some industry and mining in the surrounding areas.
